Meet George “Bargain Centre” Klassen, founder of Klassen’s Bargain Centre which opened in 1961. George Klassen has been a prominent business owner in the community of Winkler for 56 years. After running Klassen’s Bargain Centre for over 30 years, George sold the business to his sons in the early 1990’s. Soon after, George opened another store called, “Those Were The Days” which he actively operated for more than 20 years, until it finally closed last summer. George turned 90 last fall and is still looking to make a deal. When asked, “What is the best part of owning a business?” he responded with a grin…”Making a sale!”

When asked about the secret to success in business, George’s response was quick…”be honest, faithful and kind.” George has been chosen to be one of the 2018 “Faces of Winkler” which is coming to Winkler Arts and Culture in March 2018.
